ABSTRACT
Este trabalho avaliou os efeitos adversos provocados pela imunização ativa, assim como o nível de cobertura vacinal entre estudantes de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Esses estudantes representam grupo potencialmente homogêneo quanto ao conhecimento sobre a importância da imunização e atenção para possíveis efeitos colaterais relacionados ao seu uso. As reações adversas foram de baixa prevalência, caracterizadas especialmente por mal-estar (13,7%) e febre (13,5%). A cobertura vacinal apresenta grande variabilidade, desde 2,2% para pneumocócica até 95,8% para BCG.
The adverse effects of active imunization and the level of imunization in medical students of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) were evaluated. Medical students represent a homogeneous group and are aware of the importance of immunization and of its adverse effects. Adverse reactions had little prevalence and were characterized mainly by fever (13,5%) and malaise (13,7%). The degree of vaccination had a great variability from 2.2% for poliomielitis to 95.8% for BCG.
